The employees of the four open-air ethnographic museums in the country should be supported with a total of BGN 305,000. This was ordered by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva and Finance Minister Kiril Ananiev during a working meeting at the Council of Ministers.

“Social benefits must reach these people as well – they are valuable for tourism. Now, when there is a crisis and there are no school groups, students, foreign tourists, we need to keep the ethnographic centers in the country, “said Prime Minister Borissov. In the four ethnographic museums in our country work over 60 craftsmen – potters, carvers, tinsmiths, icon painters, weavers, abadjii, blacksmiths, confectioners and others. The financial assistance will preserve the spirit and culture of Bulgaria in the conditions of a pandemic.

There are four such museums in the country: the architectural and ethnographic complex “Samovodska Charshia” in Veliko Tarnovo, the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum “Etar” in Gabrovo, the architectural and ethnographic museum “Old Dobrich” in Dobrich and the ethnographic area complex in the town of Zlatograd.
