During the 27th General Conference in November 2025, ICOM will elect the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Advisory Council, as well as the Spokespersons of the National and International Committees. These key roles contribute to shaping ICOM’s policies and advising its Executive Board and General Assembly. Why get involved?

Serving as Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson of the Advisory Council is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the implementation of ICOM’s Strategic Plan and facilitating dialogue between the Committees, the General Assembly, and the Executive Board.

Deadline

Candidacies must be submitted by Saturday 28 June 2025 (23:59, Paris time). Late submissions will not be accepted.

Key information

All relevant information and documentation regarding the responsibilities of the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Advisory Council are included in the Election procedure rules. Please read it carefully before submitting your candidacy.

Specific requirements for the Chairperson position

For the position of Chairperson, the application must be supported by a National Committee, International Committee or Regional Alliance (Article 4.2.1 of the ICOM Internal Rules). A signed Nomination Form must be sent to legal@icom.museum following the submission of this online form.

early November 2025: Opening of the voting platform;
Tuesday 11 November 2025: Announcement of the election results during the 99th Session of the Advisory Council.
