NATIONAL GALLERY PRESENTS CATALOG ‘THE JAPANESE UKIYO-E ENGRAVING IN THE BULGARIAN COLLECTIONS”,

The catalog of the exhibition of the same name “JAPANESE ENGRAVING UKIYO-E in BULGARIAN COLLECTIONS” includes over 300 reproductions of all the famous ones ukiyo-e works from museum collections in the country. The unique bilingual edition is structured by seven thematically separated sections with introductory text to the theme and plot of the engravings. The last, seventh part of the catalog is dedicated to Hiroshige’s series “53 stops along the Tokaido Road”, the 190th anniversary of the printing of which motivates the creation of the exhibition in the halls of the National Gallery.
