A meeting of museum specialists from all over the country was held at the National Polytechnic Museum (NPTM). The topic of the forum was: “Popularization of museums today. Engaging Museum Audiences in the Digital Age – Effective Classic and Modern Strategies’. The participants aimed to find relevant models for improving the public image of museums and their more successful promotion to the general public.
The Deputy Minister of Culture Mrs. Amelia Gesheva presented a congratulatory address on behalf of the Minister of Culture Mr. Nayden Todorov. In it, he expresses his gratitude to the organizers – NPTM, and the participants in the meeting and notes that “overcoming various challenges and using increasingly innovative approaches to attract a wide range of audiences, Bulgarian museums manage to make a statement not only at ours, but also on the world cultural map’.
Boris Hadjiyski, director of the Regional History Museum – Pazardzhik and chairman of the Association “Bulgarian Museums”, welcomed the attendees and informed them about the results of a meeting held with representatives of the tourism industry.
The meeting was attended by leading communication experts and journalists with many years of professional experience in the media, brand building, crisis communications and event organization, as well as established specialists working in various spheres of culture, education, socially responsible initiatives and volunteer causes. Kiril Valchev, general director of BTA, also shared observations about the relationship between museum institutions and mass media and the possibilities for more successful promotion of our cultural heritage. In his presentation “Museums in the News”, he provided valuable guidelines for sharing museum content and other useful tips for museum communication.
