On April 18, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv, the exhibition “BULGARIAN EMBROIDERY AND CHINESE HIEROGLYPHS – AN (IMPOSSIBLE) PARALLEL” will open.

The exhibition, organized by the “Confucius” Classroom at the “Paisii Hilendarski” University of Plovdiv, includes twelve miniatures combining the symbolism of traditional Bulgarian needlework with hieroglyphs denoting fundamental cultural concepts for China such as prosperity, happiness, family and others.

The event is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China and the Chinese Language Day at the United Nations and will be opened on the eve of the holiday.

During the opening, students from AMTII “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” and Chinese volunteers will give the guests a boutique concert with musical performances of traditional Chinese instruments.

The exhibition can be viewed until April 24, 2024 inclusive.
