“Bulgarian felts – a message from antiquity”

On June 24, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., the opening of the national exhibition “Bulgarian felts – a message from antiquity” will take place in the Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv. The archaic technique of felting preserves centuries-old practices, the beginning of which starts from the nomadic way of life and culture. The encoded signs, symbols and inscriptions on the felt carpets preserve and transmit from generation to generation the magic of this intangible cultural heritage. In the exhibition you will see felts that show the beauty and richness of these products in their variety of colors, ornaments and compositions.

The national exhibition aims to present to the general public this ancient craft, which has survived over time and has been preserved to this day, to popularize it at home and abroad, and to help revive the ancient tradition.

The exhibition can be viewed until October 15, 2024.
