On October 23-26, the History Museum of Armenia will host an international conference “Museum Professionalism and Ethics in Challenging Times” under the joint initiative of the History Museum of Armenia, International Council of Museums (ICOM), ICOM International Committee for the Training of Personnel (ICTOP), ICOM International Committee on Ethical Dilemmas (IC ETHICS), the Armenian National Committee of ICOM.
The conference is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the History Museum of Armenia and its founding director Yervand Lalayan’s 160th anniversary. We invite museum professionals, professors/lecturers in museology and related subjects, students in museum studies, and other heritage professionals (ICOM and non-ICOM members) to share their experiences, case studies, practice, thoughts, research, and ideas.
We accept abstracts on Collection care, Audience, (re)Presentation, and Collecting that help to find new ways and approaches to future professional and ethical development in the museum field. Your contribution could be in the form of a presentation/paper (15-20 minutes), workshop (1 hour), or poster (as part of a poster session). Please, note that selected papers will be published in a special volume of the History Museum of Armenian periodical. Please submit your abstract (250 to 350 words maximum) and a short biography (maximum 150 words) by August 15, 2024. The announcement of approved proposals is September 1, 2024.

Participation is free of charge for Armenian presenters.
