Bulgaria will once again join the European Heritage Days (EHD) initiative – a joint project of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, which this year is held under the title: “Europe, a common heritage”.
Our country will celebrate the European Heritage Days with over 300 events throughout the country throughout September. Among the events organized by the municipalities are: outdoor festivals, city festivals, concerts, exhibitions, competitions, public discussions, educational and interactive games for children and various other initiatives for all ages.
Many museums, galleries, cultural and natural sites will provide free admission for visitors on certain days of September in compliance with anti-epidemiological measures in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic.
In its role of National Coordinator for the implementation of the EHR for Bulgaria, the Ministry of Culture provides a calendar of events that will be held in the country during the initiative. You can see the calendar here.
This year’s edition of the European initiative is dedicated to the link between heritage and education. The aim is for the millions of citizens of the continent to touch the cultural heritage of each country and share the common concern for its preservation.
