Wednesday 18th October 2023
18:30 – 20:00
The use of digital media in all its forms has become a major challenge for museums. Its use often appears to be a more ecological alternative. However, the reality seems more complex. We will look at the carbon impact of digital tools for museums but also try to understand and evaluate their impact on visitors.
Discussion with :
Emmanuel Château-Dutier, Professor of Digital Museology – Université de Montréal (Canada)
Johanna Eiramo, Director of the Digital Programme at the Finnish National Gallery (Helsinki, Finland)
Mohamed Ismail, Professor of Archaeology and Heritage Information Systems, Faculty of Archaeology, Ain Shams University (Cairo, Egypt)
…
The session is organised by ICOM Arab and will be moderated by its President, Ech Cherki Dahmali.
It will be held simultaneously in French, English and Spanish. It will be recorded and rebroadcast by ICOM France and its partners.
